Maybe a few words about me....

I was born in Wroclaw, in the times, when the Cathedral towers had no helmets. I lived light-heartedly, surrounded with art, poetry and music. As it proved much later, such upbringing had not prepared me for work  and life in normal society.

I studied English Philology at Wroclaw University and soon became a wife and a mother of two sons. I was occupied mostly with housekeeping and bringing the children up. I was teaching English to individual students and occasionally translating  theses from various realms of science. As a leisure I used to sew, paint, embroider,  I renovated the house, furniture and did a lot of gardening. I was reading compulsively.

In the childhood I spent much time in the darkroom with my father, who as an amateur was occupied with color photography. Later me and my husband Olek made thousands  of slides with our Practica. On various occasions I used to go to the darkroom to experiment with b/w photography, but my need for color prevailed. After several more or less efficient compact cameras I turned to SLR, now it's Olympus E510.

In 2000 I took part in a competition set up by "Agfa" and "Gazeta Wyborcza"  entitled "The Great Chance". My photos were published in Gazeta Wyborcza and exposed in the Gallery of Polish Union of Art Photographers. I had several exhibitions in Brochow, the suburb of Wroclaw.

Veni, vidi, photographici

Almost everybody occasionally dreams about freezing time, saving the most beautiful moments, memories, landscapes. Very strong positive emotions connected with beauty are evoked each time while watching photos. That's the reason why this field is so popular and ubiquitous.  Emotions are connected with meetings, journeys, walks. The more often we use the camera the more sensitive we become.

We live through each moment  twice or thrice. First, when we notice something interesting or beautiful, then, when we take the picture trying to find the best way of conveying our impression and finally, watching the effect of our effort.

Hobby, or obsession?

My adventure with photography started in the same way as with other people, but my need for saving images became more intense in 1992, when I moved to a house in Brochow, the suburban district of Wroclaw. The windows to the three sides of the world, wide, unlimited space opened the scope for observations of weather and natural phenomena, and the fields, meadows and scrubs are home of numerous fauna specimens. The contact with Nature gives me great pleasure, satisfaction, tranquility and helps  me find inner harmony. Two dimensional pictures embrace a section of the four-dimensional space-time. The answer to the question Hobby, or obsession?  is: photography is my way of life. It's my way of watching and commenting the world.
